As you all wake up on Thanksgiving morning please take the time to sit and reflect on what this day truly means. I dont know what it means to each individual, but to me, it is a day dedicated to unity, a day dedicated to peace. It is a day symbolic to what God intended for us to experience everyday. It is a day where we set aside our differences, whether it be the color of our skin, the beliefs of our religon, or the ethnicity of our ancestors. It isnt just a day we celebrate with our family and loved ones to share our thankfulness with, but it is also a day we celebrate our thankfulness with the rest of our fellow Americans. It is a day dedicated to sharing our thankfulness for God blessing us in a land where, no matter how much bad we see, there is so much more good that overcomes it. It should be a day full of prayer and love, praying for the whole world to experience what we have here. Focus not on the negative, or the flaws of your neighbors, for we all know that we have flaws and our loving God accepts us in our imperfections. Put others above yourselves, and look not at what they can do for you but what you can do for them. Give thanks by the gentleness of your hands rather than the emptiness of your words. I tell you the truth, that is what pleases our Father, and that is exactly what will heal our land. On this Thanksgiving please do not give the devil reign over your households, let no strife or dissension enter through your doors. Love each other through the petty, unimportant differences that sometimes seem to seep through the cracks of our minds. Let no bitterness or jealousy spring up and cause division at your celebration, for it will ruin the spirit of the day. Be on guard and stay alert! Overcome it by loving one another no matter who is at fault. We cannot change anyone else, but we can surely change ourselves. I love you all, and I pray that the Lord be with you, give you strength and faith, and that He bless each and everyone of your homes with thanksgiving this day. Happy Thanksgiving!
