As you are all probably aware of by now, Jackie Evancho & Cheyenne - TopicsExpress

As you are all probably aware of by now, Jackie Evancho & Cheyenne Jackson - Say Something video was blocked from viewing on YouTube in the US by SME! I have lodged complaints with YouTube and SME that because the video is on the performers own YouTube page as a promo to help generate sales for that very same video the it falls under the fair use clause of US copyright law! If you would like to send a comment or complaint to SME go to: sonymusic/ and select Feedback at the bottom of the page. Same goes for YouTube, you must be on the page you.re submitting feedback about: https://youtube/watch?v=ZwbUT-hyZz8 go to the bottom of the page and select Feedback and follow the instructions. I have already submitted carefully worded terse complaints to both. SME obviously is cutting its own nose off to site its face in this case because they are interfering with the promotion of their own artist! My complaint to Sony reads as follows: I realize YouTube is a real nightmare for recording companies to deal with. Piracy is rampant on YouTube and you almost need an army to watch out for copyright infringement issues. YouTube can also be a valuable marketing and sales tool as well! I believe your legal department inadvertently shot one of your own in the foot by accident! Jackie Evancho operates an official YouTube channel https://youtube/channel/UCCUOIPyrBN1uW8B_-p1VisQ where she promotes a lot of her new material. The following video: https://youtube/watch?v=ZwbUT-hyZz8&feature=youtu.be was removed by SME with the following message: This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. You guys just shot a 14 year old girl in in the foot! Classic Crossover is a small market anyway. Lets review this decision and see if its in everybodys best interest to do this! My complaint to YouTube reads as follows: The following notice was posted on Jackie Evancho Official YouTube channel “This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. The page is owned by the performer of the video and had posted it as a promo piece as a sample of a larger 1 hour DVD currently being offered on PBS as a premium for pledging support. Blocking this video hampers her ability to promote the sale of her own work which actually hurts SME! These people at SME are cutting their own nose off to spite their face!
