As you can read from other hikers, the trails on the western side - TopicsExpress

As you can read from other hikers, the trails on the western side of the island suffered tremendously from Arthurs winds. I am listing below the trails that can be easily hiked, and those where the conditions are poor. The good news is that Anne and Jesse say they have the time (and interest) in reopening the long section from the Whistle to Bradford Cove, section by section. We will keep you informed when various sections are again cleared. To All Hikers Condition of Trails, as a result of Arthur Good condition: Net Point Red Trail in Hole in the Wall Campground Whale Cove to the Whistle Southwest Head to Bradford Cove Southwest Head to the Flocks of Sheep North Side of Ross Island, entry from Shore Rd Above Dark Harbour north to the Lookout The Anchorage Boardwalk Around Whitehead Poor Condition: The Whistle to Dark Harbour Poor condition but possible to be hiked: Bradford Cove to Big Head Unknown, but suspected poor condition Big Head to Dark Harbour So, despite the inconvenience caused by Arthur, there are still plenty of trails to hike, and, within a couple of weeks, we hope, the back of the island will be entirely clear. Happy hiking
