As you can see by my profile picture, I have served our country, in combat! Those who served then and now deserve the respect and care they earned. Sad thing is, our do nothing congress, full of republicans that could give a shit less about our troops and veterans, wouldnt pass any veteran related bills. They voted down the Veterans Jobs Act, they voted down a Veterans Benefit Package etc. Then these same bastard republicans use our countrys heros as campaign tools as they stand in front of their constituents and brag how much they care about us. As for the most of the people in America, they wave a flag, say they support us, but when it comes down to it, thats where it stops. By that I mean, if the 300 million plus in America really cared, they would not stand for their congressmen voting NO on all these Veterans Bills. They would do something about it. Am I bitter, hell yes. But like so many other soldiers, Id do it all over again. Serve my country with pride and dedication. And as a final thought, I would really love to see the DRAFT brought back. No soldier should be doing five or six deployments to a combat zone. If we still had the draft, I think more citizens would be involved in how the troops were treated or mistreated. No deferments either!
