As you close out your holiday shoping, please take the time to consider and help someone in need. We hear programs on the radio and see them on TV every year. Local food pantrues and the Salvation Army can be essential to some this time of year. If thats not your thing then perhaps buying some groceries for someone is. Or maybe donating a jacket. Heck, perhaps you have some old clothes you could donate to the DAV. As we were conditioning our daughter to give to Toys For Tots, I ran into an old friend after just having said how I missed the biker-Marine joint venture we used to do in Springfield. Running into him made me feel that much better to have her first donation be at that specific site on that day. No need to advertise. Sometimes just doing it anonymously puts the right smile on someone elses face. Trust me, a local Army SGT was nearly in tears recently because this veteran saw and filled a need. I was proud to do it; he is taking his tun on watch guarding freedom long after mine ended.
