As you know we started installing buoys a year ago. We installed 9 in total and most of the moorings worked well. They could have done with a 6 monthly maintenance check but because of lacking funds this really is not possible. So we know what buoys we put out worked well and every dive operator in Pattaya at one time or another used them which we were pleased to see. We now believe it is up to you as a dive community in Pattaya to begin supporting reef protection and this mooring initiative. We are asking you as divers and dive operators to begin collecting funds to help us help protect Pattayas reefs. Hows It done? Simple !! Dive operators need just collect 20 baht from each diver that now dives in Pattaya and keep that as a maintenance fund (It works the same as a green fee as golfers are used to paying).
