As you may know by now, this morning KLUV switched to Christmas music. Alot of people seem to like that, and naturally there are a few who dont. I used to be one of those, but I confess Ive changed my mind on the matter. Ill have a blog up a little later on 98.7 KLUV, and Ive got several reasons worth explaining. I will say two things, however. One, for every one person who isnt fond of the idea about 10 are. Someone wrote me this morning to insist that the listeners should decide. Believe me, they already have. Our audience jumps about 250% at the first jingle bell. And the second thing is that no matter how grown up the person driving the car is, I can tell you exactly how the kids in the back seat reacted this morning when I fired off Andy Williams and Burl Ives - and I suppose Ive gotten just sentimental enough to side with them. Considering the troubled world they live in, maybe that joy is exactly whats needed - right this very minute. To borrow a phrase, that is. Besides - this weather almost demands chestnuts. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and may the best of whatever holy days you celebrate be yours.
