As your lawn care company we want to be sure that you understand the importance of core aeration and overseeding for the fescue portion of your lawn this year. We recommend this be done every fall for all fescue lawns, but this year more than any other in recent memory, it is absolutely necessary for the fescue portion of your lawn to be core aerated and over seeded. Without it your fescue lawn will struggle with thin areas and weeds this fall and upcoming 2014 season. Do I really need to Aerate and Overseed every year? Yes, In Metro Atlanta extreme summer conditions cause our clay soil to become hard and compact making it difficult for water, fertilizer and oxygen to reach your turf grass roots. This leads to general decline in Fescue lawns and makes conditions ideal for weed germination. Our regular aerating/overseeding service includes: “core” aeration of your lawn (which pulls plugs out of your lawn allowing water, oxygen, seed, and fertilizer to reach the root systems), which promotes the current grass in your yard and promotes the healthy growth of new grass, high phosphorous starter fertilizer promote germination and root growth and a high quality triple blend fescue seed that is shade, disease and drought tolerant. As always, this fall aerating/overseeding season promises to be a very busy one.
