Asad Raheel One phenomena which I have observed in ex-pats (btw I may have been one, at one time also) is that some of them (not the majority) attempt to be holier than the Pope...subscribing to values of the West, as if they themselves, were blue blooded, in these values. Plz ask the value of democracy from those Pakistanis, who cannot afford two square meals a day or the quality of justice from those Pakistanis who have spent a life-time in pursuit of justice. Westminster grade democracy & Old Bailey level justice cannot be attained overnight...it has to undergo a transition. Our parliamentarians, most of whom were given a headstart in politics of dictatorship by so called dictators, are now of course inclined to think otherwise & believe that they have been baptised with democracy, overnight. No Sir, it does not work that way...coz they retain their feudal mindset...which also gives them a fair weather trait. Tell me, what moral writ has a judge to continue on in such capacity, who for the most part of his career has been legally validating military take-overs & now claims that he wud not do so, in future? Track record can predict that in event of a Military take over, the majority of such judges wud again be back in the fold & they themselves wud volunteer to find a way to uphold, the doctrine of necessity (the basis upon which previous military take overs have been validated). Likewise a sizeable no of parliamentarians, presently in the so called democratic assemblies were previously a part of the non-democratic assemblies & wud again be so, subject to fair weather. Trust me Im not for a military run govt & its on record that I have vehemently advocated trial for treason of military officers from the time Gen Yahya (& his coterie...which btw was also the recommendation of the Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission Report). This is the correct way to go about it. Many facts shall be brought to the fore. Presently, Gen Mushs treason trial is in progress. It has however lost its steam & my prediction is that despite the judiciary being biased against him & despite some important defence witnesses (whom Gen Mush had benevolently blessed in his tenure, not turning up to adduce evidence eg Shaukat Aziz), Gen Mush is gonna come out clean. It was indeed a treat to hear Gen Mushs speech in his defence, in the treason court. There was absolute pin-drop silence. Everybody in court was all ears for him & most were overwhelmed by his staright talk & pure logic...some to the extent that they had tears in their eyes. At its culmination, the venomous prosecution lawyer crossed over to shake hands with him...& it appears that he has been detoxified, ever since. It was the hard but rational logic (incl a carrot & stick approach) of Gen Mush, which moved us from the severest ever thrashing of the Indian Army at Kargill to an almost total solution of the Kashmir dispute...but then AAZ took the lead in pulling the rug from beneath the feet of Gen Mush. Had he not done so & had BB lived on, the American prescription for transition to democracy in Pakistan, by the combo of BB (as PM) & Gen Mush (as President) wud have been a stable combo, to such effect. Gen Mush, after a prolonged silence, has apparently now started hitting back. In the interview ante, he has stated, Bilawal shud ask his father as to who killed his mother...he (AAZ) shud be knowing it. My dear ex-pats, I realise that as a community you are rational people. So, plz try to understand the politics of Motherland & the reasons why democracy is not working well there. Furthermore, plz explain the same to your collegues...in front whom you must be feeling embarrassed because of the abysmal state of affairs here. You may be third gen Americans (which most of you are not)...but you will always be called Americans of Paki-origin. 1 hr · Edited · Like · 2 Mujahid Hussain Brilliant Asad Raheel Sahib ! Very well explained about Musharraf. 1 hr · Edited · Unlike · 1 Asad Raheel It was decision of an institution to protect their corporate interests. 19-20 minutes of fuel left always sound thrilling to us,mortals Predisposing factor: two Army chiefs had been removed prematurely by MNS. Wud it not be fair prediction and also some reason that the the third time there wud be a possibility of institutional reaction? Masroor Qasim. Secondly, there is also some methodology to conduct an act which carries inherent risks. Unfortunately, MNS had no vision of the same. Gen Gul had brought ZAB to power by making Gen Yahya resign with a pistol to his forehead...however when ZAB decided to remove Gen Gul who became the Army Chief, he accomplished the same, methodically. 42 mins · Edited · Like · 2 Asad Raheel his statement about Pakistani women planed rape to get Canadian citizenship Yousuf Ahmed...an Amendment to that statement was immediately issued...but of course u wud cling to the first for obvious reasons. However, is not rape difficult to prove even in the West...also for similar reasons? Lastly, you must be familiar with our trait of honesty as a nation...do you know how many claims for damages are being filed by even third degree relatives/ helpers of terrorists killed in drone attacks? Among all the monkeys he can be good monkey In intelligent discourse, even the word, monkey wud be an expletive...how about trying some logic, instead? like Bhutto defense you got a love him, cannot defend him Lets be logical. 29 mins · Like · 2
