Asanga, the 4th Century AD founder of the Yogacara (Consciousness Only) School of Indian Mahayana Buddhism, said: Upon reaching enlightenment one realizes that there are no subject/object relationships. Once the l/object relationship is removed, the result is things as they really are and this is Nirvana. In order to achieve Nirvana, one must continually sharpen ones mind through study and meditation. Through meditation, one must reverse the activities of the consciousness. The Sixth Consciousness must cease presenting information. The 7th consciousness, the Manas Vijnana, must cease creating object relations. And the 8th Consciousness, the Alaya Vijnana, must be emptied of all seeds and withered away. Enlightenment is like the moon reflected in water. - Dogen All appearance is delusion. lf you view all appearance as no appearance Then that view is your true nature. Do not become attached to any thoughts that arise in your mind. - Diamond Sutra
