Ascension Adventures Day 04 December 4th, 2014 Tour #A Cenote Samula & Xkeken Valladolid, Yucatan After exploring the great Jaguar Temple of EkBalam Ascension Adventures Expedition team heads over to one of the most beautiful Cenotes in the entire Yucatan Riviera, thats the famous Cenote Samula and X Kek En in Dzinup Village. A cenote is made naturally by a slow process of drainage erosion by rain, over the period of millions of years, water leaks into the soft limestone soil and erodes it in order to create this magnificent natural wonders we call Cenotes The Word Cenote in Spanish comes from the Maya Word dzonot which means water well, the Spanish had trouble saying this so now is just know as cenote.. Cenotes are a unique feature in the world and mostly are located in the Yucatan. Cenotes were highly venerated by the Ancestral Maya as doorways into the Underworld in ancestral times cenotes were used for numerous purposes for Religious rituals and for drinking and irrigation.. There are numerous Maya Gods that were worshiped inside Cenotes like the God of Rain Chaac the central valley of Mexico rain god named as Tlaloc and many others.. Cenotes are interconnected by numerous tunnels, that connect between other cenotes creating the largest underground river systems in the world all located in the Yucatan.. After our visit to the great cenotes our team of ascended explorers will be heading back to the Lemurian Embassy Eco Village Retreat as their first visit in order to get to know our headquarters and participate in a very very special Maya Ceremony for inauguration..
