Ascension Adventures Day 16 - 22 Tour # B December 16th - 22nd 2014 EL MIRADOR, RESERVA DE LA BIOSFERA MAYA GUATEMALA!! 200 Kilometer Jungle Trek!! Ascension Adventures departs from the iconic and mystical temple of Tikal, and continues its voyage across one of the most anticipated and highly challenging phase of Ascension Adventures Expeditions.. The one and only EL MIRADOR BASIN!! one of the most important archeological mayan sites ever discovered, completely redefining ancient mayan history and shattering our belief systems about what we thought we knew of the ancient mayan people and their relationship to the cosmos.. For years it was believed that the Holy Book of the Maya ( Popol Vuh) was written during the time of the conquest because of its great similarity to that of the christian bible, the flood, the Adam and Eve story and many other symbologies made it so similar that it was always believed was inspired or written by slaves in order to continue the christianisation of the indigenous mayan people in the region.. All of that changed when the archeologists found a stucco relief carving with depictions of the Hero Twin creation mayan myth story, this redefined history since it means that the popol vuh holy book goes back at least thousands of years before christ and all other mayor religions of the world, i strongly believe this is one of the cradles of civilization, perhaps one of the epi centers of the Lost Atlantean Civilizations that once existed in the region.. El MIrador has the largest pyramid ever built in the Planet, just the main central pyramid of La Danta measures en entire Tikal Complex center just imagine the size and the ingenuity to create such a magnificent temple!! measuring 2,800,000 cubic meters and with an crazy heights of 70 Meters HIGH!!!!! Just the base it measures 5 Soccer Fields!! According to modern archeology El Mirador dates back to the PRE-CLASSIC Period of the Maya which some estimate go back to at least 5.000 YEARS OLD!!! The El Mirador Complex contains more than 35 Triadic Structures, many aligned with various constellations such as Sirius and Pleiades, all representing the holy stove of creation.. In order to reach the central complex el mirador is two ways 1- Helicopter ( Not an option :) ) 2.- Walk ( BEST OPTION ) Our hardcore expedition will take us on a journey that will change your life forever!! Many years ago i heard of El Mirador and i couldnt ever make it, i was a bit afraid and i didnt know you could actually go inside, it was such a hard task that it almost became a dream that could never be true, until one of my best friends Psy Family-Guatemaya ( Presi ) invited me on an expedition, this trek along the virgin jungles of Guatemala completely changed my life and made me have a deep understanding and a powerful initiation into the shamanic path and into pushing the limits of physicality.. Years have passed since and every year i have taken Ascension Adventures expeditions to this remote part of the world, to show the people truly what it feels like to walk into a lost civilization, to walk the same path the once powerful and mystical maya did, to be in a region that has not seen any human activity for the past thousands of years, and to fully revive and reactivate one of the most powerful energetic centers on Planet Earth.. Our Journey has been well planed and is guided by our good friends and cooperative Carmelita, an indigenous mayan organization, that has received training and is extremely knowledgable about the jungle, its dangers and its wisdoms. For years we have created a beautiful bond with this group of people that this year we will donate our time and energy and financial support to this organization.. After our visit to Tikal and as we make our way to El Mirador, the last place of civilization is called Carmelita an isolated mayan indigenous community where the guides and people that will take us into the jungle call home. We will arrive early morning and prepare all of our equipment, horses and mules, meals, and all the necessary stuff needed during our expedition.. After we have various meeting in regards of the trip expedition, the survival guide and all the precautions clarify we will donate our entire day to the community, we are talking to them directly so that we can provide some type of support either by teaching the kids basic english or read and write in spanish, or any type of skill that you feel is necessary for the community, we will also donate supplies to the community as well as preparing a big dinner celebration.. Our Expedition will start very early around 5AM we will start walking, each day we will walk around 30-35 Kilometers just in case some people get extremely tired or if there is any type of accident or danger we have 2 mules extras just in case they are needed.. Ascension Adventures will provide all necessary equipment such as tents, sleeping mats, blankets, pillows, and the mules will carry all the equipment necessary as well as the food and other supplies needed.. Ascension Adventures will hire local mayan Cocineras woman chefs that will prepare meal for us 3 times a day and keep us hydrated with delicious fruits and natural drinks.. Your JOB will be to walk and walk and walk.. We recommend you to PLEASE bring confortable shoes for this expedition, couple pairs of socks, rain jacket just in case, large pants and shorts both as needed, jacket, glasses that have a necklace, MOSQUITO SPRAY :) i also recommend you bring Rubber Boots this can also help sometimes on the crazy jungle trek.. Our team of specialized guides have all necessary equipment and supplies in case of any type of emergency from a broken arm leg or injury to a bite by a powerful venenous snake.. The Expedition will take 2 days to get inside the main complex of la danta, during day one we will visit EL TIGRE one of the biggest pyramids as well and see the sunset :) ( AMAZING!!! ) then day two continue our journey until we reach LA DANTA ( for SUNSET and CELEBRATION ) after that we plan to stay a period of 2 days extra in order to explore so much temples that are scattered all around.. we might have a day extra that we should all discuss if you guys want we could extend one more day to visit more temples that are deeper inside.. I dont want to spoil it too much of all the activities that will be happening during our trek el el mirador so here are some pictures so you get the peak of what the hell you are about to get into :) After our expedition we will continue to Flores and stay in our hotel and have the best night sleep in weeks :) and continue our journey towards YAXHA!!!
