Asefon Sunday Dayo > FEDERATION OF EKITI STATE STUDENTS UNION, National Union Government EKITI GUBER: TIME NOT TO FORGET THE PAST. We have noted with vehement displeasure and dismay,the emergence of Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose as the controversial flag bearer of the people Democratic Party(PDP)in forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State. As conscious students of history,we wish to state without an iota of doubt,the historical and mal administration of Ayo Fayose can never be forgotten again in Ekiti State,as he apparently lacks the moral requirements and credentials to qualify him for such exhausted position. We could not forget in a jiffy, the various acts of brigandage, thugerry, killing,maiming and above all,corruption at its peak that characterize FAYOSE tenure as a Governor in Ekiti dem. We recollect vividly,that on March 15,2004,students of college of Education,Ikere Ekiti staged a peaceful protest against the imposition of a provost on them,Fayose,through one of his popular aides in Ikere,unleashed mayhem on the protesting students,at the end of the deadly attack,five (5)students were brutally murdered while several others were seriously injured,one Of the students who survived the incident,Gbenga Jaiye Oba, had one of his legs amputated and is still living with the pain. For the above stated reason and many others,we have resolved to mobilize Our students across all campuses against controversial candidacy of Ayodele Fayose and we shall strive to ensure he never gets near the Government House again. As students,we have expected that the PDP will present a sellable candidate with credible record,and verifiable antecedents to challenge the incumbent Governor whose credential is intimidating,so as to make the build up to the election an intellectually robust discussion about Government policies and manifestos,but with Ayo Fayose, that hope has been lost completely. We must not forget to charge the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to give us a free,fair and credible elections in Ekiti State as we will not hesitate to take our destiny in our hands if our free will to democratically elect leaders is tampered with. We shall continue to inform,motivate and mobilize, toward achieving the Ekiti State of our dream where only men of integrity, value and credible credentials will lead the good people of Ekiti state. Your governor want to employ 2000, he sell 1000 form to 30000 people... Is this good governance...
