Ashford Soup Kitchen are looking for a new premises to operate from and have appealed to anyone who may be able to help. Providing a hot meal and takeaway food for those in need every Thursday evening, they have been operating out of the Centrepiece Church premises in Bank Street for well over 20 years. They are supported by voluntary contributions and run by a group of volunteers. Jon Wackett, who has lead the Soup Kitchen for the last 10 years said: "We desperately need somewhere else in the town centre that has a kitchen where we can prepare food with storage space for us to keep our equipment and food from week to week � there must be somewhere else we can go within easy reach of the town centre that will enable us to keep providing this service that is obviously desperately needed by some people � in recent weeks we have been regularly feeding nearly 20 diners � these people are often homeless, living rough or housed temporarily in B & B."
