Ashgrove u19 1 - 4 Rockview u19 Rockview under19s booked their place in the quarter final of the savage cup by topping their group with a good win over local rivals ashgrove. It was ashgrove who started best and took the lead in the 18th minute with a rasping 30 yard free kick. Rockview were causing problems and in particular James Mc Kevitt who hit the bar and post in the space of 5mins. Rockview got their deserved equaliser in the 31st min when a great through ball from Eoghan Campbell found caelon grant in space and the striker made no mistake blasting the ball past the ashgrove keeper. 2 min later grant doubled his own and rockviews tally when he won a ball that he had no right to win and round the keeper to finish in the empty net. Jack Morgan provided the assist. Rockview started the second half as they ended the first, by creating plenty of chances but failing to find the net. However in the 65th minute grant turned provider when he played a dangerous ball into the 6 yard box only for it to be turned into his own net by an unlucky defender. Rockview made the game safe when Robbie Philpott finished of from 7yards out after good work Gary Mcaleavey and Patrick Kearns down the right flank. No doubt grant will deservedly take the plaudits in this game, but special mention must also go to Corey McCullough who shown for the away team.
