The Manipur Hill journalist Union today elected H.A.Sothing Shimary uncontest as the new president to run the office of MHJU for one tenure 2014- 2017. 68 journalists took part in the election from Churanchanpur, Senepati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul. the Secretarial report from Ningkhalun MHJU secretary stated that 2012,7th September all hill district come together in one banner This general election was the first from hills district of Manipur unite together officially to endorse our journalist representative executive after formal came into existence. The Finance secretary SN John tabled the account statement of their Tenure, after which the incumbent President MHJU Thangzalian gave time to the election commission for the election result declaration. The election Commission MHJU John Apeng ,Lakleiphy Ruivah and Aran Chihui after took over the time. John Apeng read out the elected list of the candidates. H.A. Sothing Shimray President, Kh Benlien Vaiphei VP, S. Nengkhanlun Secretary, Bosco R Assistant Secretary, SN John Publicity and Information, Timothy Z Zote Finance secretary and Azonnah Zasper as Treasurer of MHJU.oath taking was administered by the election commissioners, handing over and charge taking was done at the Awontang Community hall, Ukhrul at around 12:00 noon.
