Ashley Conroy could face a charge of manslaughter for the fire that claimed the life of her 18 month old son. Thurston County Sheriffs investigators say Conroy used a hotplate to warm the room where her son was sleeping. When flames broke out around 5 AM Conroy said she tried to get to the boy but couldnt. Conroy suffered some burns and was treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Several other people in the home escaped unharmed. Investigators said because Conroys negligence led to the fire they are considering charges against her.
