Ashley, you should be a writer. I hope you share your great updates with your California community. One more posting from Ashley and Manu, Freds grateful mom and dad: Each and every person you meet has the power to effect change in your life and sometimes - if not all the time - even a dog can have that effect. Fred now has more friends than hell ever be able to comprehend. Many tears of joy were shed yesterday by myself and others. I cried together with complete strangers on the phone, and yet none of us felt embarrassed or ashamed. All of you stuck by us through the good and the bad and we cannot thank you enough for it. Some of you will still be finding partially decomposed banana peels for months to come, spread throughout the countryside. When you do, please think of Fred and the wonderful role you played (no matter how big or small) in the cold wintry search that culminated in his return home. Whether you stopped in the road for a lead to follow as we met during countless hours of searching, scoured the Internet to send those leads, called or sent a smile our way when we needed it most, watched from afar and sent prayers in our direction, or just looked at the lost dog poster and kept an eye out for Fred when out and about, we would like the opportunity to thank you.
