Ashok Sharma demands fair distribution of relief Kalakote, Sept.18: Rational and need base approach is pre-requisite for distribution of relief materials to the affected people, said Mr. Ashok Sharma while visiting door to door to the affected people in Kalakote Assembly segment. Mr. Sharma added that every third house is rains- flood victim in Kalakote Assembly segment, but pick and choose method is being forced by political bosses on the relief distribution teams which is illegal, un-warranted and discriminated, and needs to be stopped forthwith. Mr. Sharma appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi., Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Chief Secretary Iqwal Khandey, Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu and Jitender Kumar Singh Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri to intervene and ensure fair distribution of relief materials being provided by the Union and State governments, NGOs and civil societies followed by written communications through fax and e-mail. He quoted the reference of one truck relief material mostly blankets, tents and ration, which was stolen away and not traceable after it entered Metka- Kanthal road in Kalakote and the teams distributing the ration were subjected to harassment. Mr. Sharma alongwith 40-45 volunteers went door to door, took photographs and assessed the damages in several villages including Malarian, Metka, Kallar and Dharamsal. Mr. Sharma with his team extended thanks to Army for contributing their wit at this critical juncture and provided tents and relief materials to the sufferers. Mr. Sharma expressed anguish for not supplying the relief materials to the people of Narla, Bambal, Kotechadwal, Godhan, Kharbeni, Panglar, Mian, Chak Patti, Harichuma and other remotest areas and none from the government side could visit these areas to see the drastic damage caused in the areas.
