Asiya Andrabi’s nephew arrested in Pakistan #Srinagar, Sep. 10:Days after her relative was arrested in Islamabad, Dukhatarn e Millat Chief Asiya Andrabi Tuesday said that there were scores of agencies working in Pakistan and it wasn’t sure who picked up her nephew. She however made it clear that the incident would not become a deterrent in her conviction and belief to strive for self determination. “The boy arrested is my nephew and is a Pakistani national. My Sister and brother have gone to Pakistan in 90’s and since then I have never seen these kids.” Asiya told KNS on Tuesday. She said that soon after the arrest, so many people called her up and showed their support. Asiya Andrabi also said that even the higher officials in the Pakistani establishment were unaware of the arrest which has made the affair more ambiguous. According to Andrabi her sister lives in Saudi Arabia where as her son is an aeronautical engineer in Pakistan. “The kid they have arrested is a 12th standard student and had to appear in the entrance test. The sleuths who arrested the kid then dropped at the residence of my nephew and locked my sister in her room before they searched the house.” Andrabi said. She said that it was impossible to even imagine that her relatives would work against the interests of Pakistan. Earlier the leading Pakistani daily ‘Dawn’ had published a story claiming that the relative of Asiya Andrabi Mohammad Shoaib was arrested in the outskirts of Islamabad on weakened by Federal Police with arms and ammunition . According to the report, the authorities in the Islamabad were investigating the bank accounts and other details of the arrestee and his other relative Syed Irtiqaz Nabi Geelani who the report said was on run. According to report the arrest, if proven, is the first in Pakistan of someone linked to senior Kashmiri leadership from Kashmir.
