Ask Me About 50… Ask me about a man, and I’ll tell - TopicsExpress

Ask Me About 50… Ask me about a man, and I’ll tell you. Won’t cut corners on such a definition. A rare breed, for such a broad species. Let me explain so to ease your suspicion. He is envied and the best at what he does. Even when ‘does’ is not best or ideal. Even when ‘does’ is not much or is the most. And every ‘does’ he does has his seal. He is an honorable creature and humble the same. The kind of honor that stems from integrity, The kind of humility that glares and warms you And knows exactly when to let it be. He is educated with a mind that is immortal An education that a book can’t explain An education that you couldn’t give because he took it. Test of strength from lectures on pain. He cradles the world with his heart. But knows how to distance with his mind. Dedicates his flesh still to God. Makes his soul easy for the Lord to find. Ask me about a husband and I’ll tell you. That you can still get the answer from this man. A role being taken for granted these days Let me indulge here if I can. A husband who’s loyalty is solid Goes beyond coming home at night But a loyalty given to the heart It is one heck of a rare find and sight. For I’ve seen a man in love, And I’ve seen a man love his wife’ But this husband is a ‘forever man’ Falling in love with the entire life. The ups and downs, further down and then up, Together and away, twist and turns, side to side, But a husband is one half of a whole, For which without him the whole would die. Hell holds no fury like a woman’s scorn, And a woman can scorn until the cows come home, But a man who adores his wife so much, That he would rather burn, than be alone. Ask me about a father, and I sing it. Ill praise and shout it to every ear. How lucky you are to hear it? Of how lucky I am to be here. No direction, or example, or ‘how to’ guide. No guilt trips or nagging from ‘baby mama’ Just pure love of my face imprinted in his, No need for today’s society drama. A father who doesn’t blame the lack of knowledge, Whose children never had to be the best, Whose children never needed to perfect ANYTHING, Or pretend to be better than all the rest. Who held his daughter through all her tears, Who fought for her against other relations, And after she left and spat at his face, He drove five hours to her graduation. He shows his daughter true love and reality, He shows a husband, and father, and man, Never lets the world fall on her shoulders, Just says, “You can only do what you can”. Ask me about 50, and I’ll tell ya! Not very many people reach this age, With so many hurdles to jump in a chapter, And still have strength to turn the page, 50 years of breathing and heart beats, And not at all that much (grey) seasoned, 50 years of walking this earth, but hey! They say everything happens for a reason 50 years of loving his family, 50 years of sacrifice and giving, 50 years of paving a road for us, So we may have 50 years of living. 50 of living a life so far, I think this is what you deserve, To play a little more and harder, Since YOU did the “hard work first”. 50 is such a golden age, But we are not people of content, Accomplishments are well on the way, Through you who is heaven sent. You’ve touched every soul you’ve been next to, You’ve blessed the world in every way, I’ll live to be 50 because of you, So you deserve the best birthday!!!! Kriss Maroko Dedicated to my father, my rock, my everything, on his special birthday and he may never know how much he means to us and how much we love him. I love you and enjoy your day! ------14 May 2014
