Ask my girlfriend, one of my biggest pet peeves is people who dont buckle their seat-belt when they drive. Ive never been able to comprehend why someone wouldnt take 2.5 seconds to do something that could potentially save their life. Ive worked in multiple ERs for 5+ years and have observed a common theme; (EMS People, Nurses, Docs, Coroners Lenox Lewis )...correct me if Im wrong here) People who dont wear their seat belts DIE! Obviously not everyone who gets into an accident without their seat belt on dies; and likewise, not everyone who wears their seat belt will survive a severe accident; however the likelihood that you will walk away from an accident is around 50% greater if you are restrained. Last night there was an accident outside of Springfield. A car went off the side of the road and hit a tree. Four teenagers died as a result and two were left in serious condition. The four who died were not restrained. The ones who survived were. Who cares what your friends think. Who cares if its uncomfortable. Who cares if its inconvenient. Who cares if But I wont get into a wreck. Who cares if youre only going to drive slow. Who cares if youre a good driver; someone else might not be.
