Asperger’s syndrome is not – as commonly supposed - a mild - TopicsExpress

Asperger’s syndrome is not – as commonly supposed - a mild condition. It is a profoundly different way of experiencing people and the world in totality. Aspergers is a fully recognised and defined condition (ICD 10 and DSM 5), a permanent intellectual difference/disability (From Aspergers Syndrome New Zealand). A personal pet-hate for me is when someone says Oh, its only mild AS... or slightly Aspergers. There is no such thing as mild - they are on the spectrum or theyre not.
