Assalamu Alaikum, First, I had a slick #back #training session - TopicsExpress

Assalamu Alaikum, First, I had a slick #back #training session #alhamdulillah. I did no #deadlifts tonight, but instead tons of heavy rowing. T-rows, seated rows, dumbbell rows and some pull downs. Second, I will soon be getting my ultrasound appointment for my pectorals to see whats up... was hoping to get an MRI instead but healthcare is not cheap and... the government is cheap lol... I cant #train #chest or even do #pushups now :( Third, here comes my rant. I know its new years and newbs start rushing in... Normally the gym is full of newbs all year long who make little progress because clearly they have no direction, no guidance and even if they appear to think they do, they make some mistakes in their training methodology or nutrition and still get no where... Theres also the usual guys/girls who you see all the time training and who get consistent results... Then theres the dedicated egos which appear like the dedicated crowd but are in fact worse than the newbs. I dont know how many times I wasted my time trying to advise some guys... wallah... whether its snap city (ouch) curling 80lbs dumbbells with 15 arms... or the load up the bar with all the plates from the gym super heroes who cant squat 1/4 of the way... or... anything else along those lines... I try to zone out and mind my own business, but once in a while I see someone epically failing, so I cant help but try to help them. Tonight... first group of guys doing pull downs.... pulling the bar all the way to their crotch... I dont know I mostly see girls doing this often... not enough weight and no idea how to use the pull down machine. I advised them, they listened. Alhamdulillah. Second crowd tonight... which led me to this rant... learning to squat.. but making all the typical newb mistakes... I didnt even get to finish advising them because... well....... I disagree with your tips and I have been doing this for a while bro This response just makes me shrug my head... I know what Im doing bro. Tonight was one of those evenings. Now by all means, someone could have really been doing it for a while, but when I see they are skinny fat or skin and bone... seriously... I dont mean to offend but chances are you should hear me out. It was a group of Muslim brothers too so I watched them taking turns and I just had to approach sincerely wanting to show them how to do it... The one trying to show them seemed to have SOME idea of how to squat but... He was still making errors and teaching them erronously.... I dont agree with you jazakAllah khair... and when he said that I just felt like a fool and walked away. I didnt even get a chance to pinpoint the finer details of squatting and instead got this response. They were learning to squat, yet were failing to even properly enter and position themselves under the bar... Their foot positioning was incorrect... doing some kind of weird sweep to position their feet once the bar is off.. it was just all weird... I myself believe I always have something new to learn. I never think that I know it all. So whenever someone offers some tips and they look like they have been lifting for a while, probably its a good idea to at least let them finish and hear them out before you decide that you know better. I just walked away and shrugged my head...
