Assalamu Alaikum He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the Sun and the Moon; and the Stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise. And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a Sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude). The Holy Quran, Surah An-Nahl (The Bee), 16:12-13 Sins and Doubtful Matters The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The Halaal is clear and the Haraam is clear, and between the two are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Whoever avoids the doubtful matters will have sought safety for his religion and honour (from deficiency and blame). Whoever involves himself in doubtful matters will fall into the forbidden (Haraam), like the shepherd who pastures his flock close to a sanctuary: it is feared that he will end up trespassing in it.” [Bukhari] Avoid the Haraam (forbidden) deeds and avoid the Makruh (disliked) deeds. Avoid those deeds whose validity in Islam is questionable. Avoid the major sins and avoid the minor sins, for minor sins can pile up until they are enough to kindle a huge fire and destroy you. Bilaal ibn Saad said: “Do not look at the smallness of the sin, but consider Whom you have disobeyed.” Bishr al-Haafi said: “If people were to truly contemplate the greatness (adhamah) of Allah they would not disobey Him.” Al-Fudayl ibn Iyaad said: “The smaller the sin is in your eyes, the greater it is with Allah, and the greater it is in your eyes, the smaller it becomes with Allah.” Never make excuses. Always wake up with a smile knowing that today you are going to have fun accomplishing what others are too afraid to do - Anonymous
