Assalamualaikum..salam pagi Jumaat. May all of us beroleh berkat dan kesejahteraan sempena Jumaat yang mulia ini..well, after all that been said and done..ive been thinking about this bigbang thingy and I have a theory that makes logical (not necessarily scientific) sense to me, and it makes me wonder few things. Why do we have the assumption that the universe has a beginning? I certainly understand why a thought like this is intuitive, but when you look at it, We have never seen matter come into nor leave existence (The Lawrence Krauss something from nothing thing turns out to really just be wordplay. It isnt in fact nothing from what I understand). There really is no reason to assume that there is a beginning of the universe (just like nobody assumes there is an end to the universe). The way I imagine it, the universe is just matter in action that has always been in action and always will be in action and our consciousness only discerns it at an arbitrary rate in a random direction (When you think about it, if all movement were reversed completely, the laws of physics would still be valid anyway, so why do we think that TIME has a direction rather than CONSCIOUSNESS only discerning in one direction? I can understand the big bang as a cyclical structure, but I dont really think it makes sense as a beginning nor an end for that matter. Anyway, While youre at it, I have a second question. Science also offers the idea that the universe is expanding (or at least the matter within it is moving outward). Does science acknowledge a LIMIT to the size of the universe? I understand that the pull of matter back to itself dictates that matter will eventually fall back to singularity, and that makes sense, but I dont see any reason to not include the matter free space outside the universe as part of the universe. I imagine the universe going on forever. and any infinite amount of collections of matter moving freely about it. And how bout this..? Expansion of the Universe At a time when the science of Astronomy was still primitive, the expansion of the universe was described in Quran: And it is We who have built the Universe with [Our creative] power and keep expanding it. [51:47] The fact that the universe is expanding was discovered in the last century. The physicist Stephen Hawking in his book ‘A Brief History of Time’ writes, “The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the 20th century.”[10]. The Quran mentioned the expansion of the universe even before the invention of the telescope! As far as I can tell, my ideas here make perfect sense, but Im open to criticism. Please let me know what you think.
