Assassins kill Delta varsity staff ABRAKA – SUSPECTED assassins have shot dead a non academic staff of Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State, Mr. David Akiri. Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident said the deceased was killed, as he alighted from his car to open the gate of his house in Abraka campus, during the week. Her words, “Two boys emerged from the bush and shot him on the leg and escaped. The victim was immediately rushed to Eku Medical Centre,Eku, where he later died.” She, however, disclosed that police detectives investigating the incident had arrested two persons in connection with the murder,adding “The suspects have confessed to the crime.” The PPRO added, ” Investigation is in progress. The suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law at the end of investigation.” Also, a police patrol team from Patani Division in conjunction with vigilante men on Monday arrested three suspected motorcycle thieves, aged 22, 25 and 26 years respectively at Patani and Bomadi. According to police spokesperson, , “Items recovered from them are one Qlink and one Skygo motorcycles. Meanwhile, investigation is going on.”
