Assault in Weymouth - Witness appeal Detectives in Weymouth investigating an assault in the town are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward. The incident, in which a 25-year-old Weymouth man was assaulted by two men, happened at approximately 1.20am on Saturday 2 August 2014 along St. Thomas Street near the Crown Hotel. The victim was taken to Dorset County Hospital as he sustained injuries to his head which required stitches. Detective Constable Sarah Desmond, of Weymouth CID, said: “The offenders may have driven away in a light coloured BMW with tinted windows. “They have been described as of Asian appearance, between 18 and 20 years of age and around five feet six inches tall. They both have dark hair and one of the men is of skinny build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top and dark trousers. “I would urge witnesses and anyone with information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.” Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 2:41.
