Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who has called for reworking of the Government Accountability Board that enforces campaign-finance and ethics laws and the removal of GAB Director Kevin Kennedy, issued this statement in response to today’s audit of GAB: “The audit, unfortunately, was not surprising. We know that the GAB routinely doesn’t follow the law and there’s no accountability whatsoever. The audit is another illustration of why we must change the GAB. Assembly Republicans are moving forward on developing legislation to reform the GAB. Rep. Dean Knudson (R-Hudson) is leading our caucus efforts. It’s time that Wisconsin has an ethics and elections board that has the confidence of every Wisconsin citizen.”
