Assembly backs Selcats motion on Azmin Alis status as PKNS board member HAH ALAM (June 18): The Selangor legislative assembly endorsed the recommendations from the Special Select Committee On Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) that Bukit Antarabangsa assembly member Mohamed Azmin Ali remains as PKNS board member. In a motion tabled by Ng Suee Lim (Sekinchan-DAP), Ng said Selcats panel found that there was no conclusive evidence that Azmin was sacked from the PKNS board. There is no solid proof that YB Azmin was sacked from the board of PKNS, he said during the state assembly. Dr Abdul Rani Osman (Meru-PAS) supported the motion and was later approved by the state assembly. On January 10, Azmin reportedly received a letter dated January 8 from PKNS informing him that his tenure as board member would not be renewed and had ceased as of December 4, 2013. The decision was apparently made by then PKNS general manager Datuk Othman Omar and executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek, who were suspended on January 20, over the letter to Azmin.
