Assemblymember Mariko Yamada’s Statement on Budget Vote SACRAMENTO — Assemblymember Mariko Yamada (D – Davis), released the following statement in response to today’s vote on the 2013-2014 Budget: “Today’s on-time, three-peat balanced budget is responsible, reasonable, and restrained and honors voter intent to reinvest in education and public safety. This budget also paves the way for thousands of uninsured Californians to access health benefits, strengthens mental health and veterans services, cuts business filings to five days, and provides modest relief to our courts. While this blueprint is a good start, there are still too many Californians who are struggling.
