Assignment: DUE on Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2014) I. Select one (1) of your favorite songs, poetry, short story and a picture of your favorite painting/sculpture/architectural building. 2. Prepare an essay describing the subject, object and theme of each of the above art genre. This will be read and presented in the class on Wednesday. GROUP ASSIGNMENT: I.Please prepare the following mediums/art materials Group 1: Pencils, (graphite, colored pencils, water soluble) and a sketch pad Group 2: Charcoal (soft, medium and hard) and a sketch pad Group 3: Acrylic in Tube ( Pebeo brand will do), nylon paint brushes, water solvent and two medium size canvas boards (stretched and primed) Group 4: Watercolor ( PRANG , cake type with brush and water medium) and watercolor pad Group 5. Oil paint (Marie/Pebeo brand, brushes for oil, paint thinner, linseed oil) and two medium sized canvas boards (stretched and primed) Group 6: Tempera (eggs and color pigment) and a wooden board primed with gesso) Group 7: Encaustics (wax and color pigment), heating pan/small flat iron and illustration boards Group 8: Pastels (soft/oil and chalk), pastel paper and assorted felt paper.
