Assisi how can words describe this place. Just back from a 4 day retreat. An amazing place. We celebrated mass in two very special places, the tomb of St Francis and in the Chapel in St Clares church before the cross that was in the church Francis was asked to rebuild and thus begin the franciscans, a very special moment. A beautiful city, beautiful churches with amazing art work, especially the frescos by Giotto.Once again I had studied them in HSC, and here I was standing before them. Walking thru the narrow streets, surrounded by roman and medieval buildings was like steeping back in time. The views from Assisi were also amazing. A must place to visit if in Italy. The coffee and cake was alas good!!!
