Do you enjoy a wide range of song styles, have an excellent sense of rhythm and pitch, and a strong and versatile voice? Would you relish the opportunity to help a community choir learn their songs and possibly co-conduct at their concerts? Ali Orbaum is seeking a teaching assistant (preferably soprano if female) to help her run the Gasworks Choir. This thriving community choir has been running since 1997 and currently has about 160 members who usually meet in four smaller groups of 40. All songs are taught by ear and the choir is mixed ability (no auditions) and learns approximately six new songs per term. Two groups per week and two terms per year running Jan - May and Sep - Dec. Choir sessions are held in St Werburghs on Monday evenings (7.30 – 9.30pm) and alternating Tuesday evening/Tuesday afternoons (1-3pm). Also occasional weekend sessions for pre-concert rehearsals and end of term concerts. This is a great opportunity for a reliable, committed, talented and energetic individual.
