Assistant needed for outback feature film Hello everyone, I am in need of an assistant to help me shoot my first feature length project. I am offering $1000, with all transport, accommodation and meals provided also. We - 2 crew and 2 actors - will be leaving Melbourne and setting off for Broken Hill and beyond in one vehicle on or around March 14th and returning to Melbourne at Easter time, around April 5th. The job involves holding a large reflector board to light the actors while I film them. Thats the assistants primary role in a nutshell. She/he will also help carry gear, set up the tripod, help with cooking, cleaning, setting up camp, running errands etc, indeed anything and everything that will help move the production forward. The actors will also be doing these chores, as will I. There will be seven days of camping in tents and up to 8 kms of hiking per day wearing packs, so you need to be reasonably fit and enjoy the outdoors. It can get quite hot up there too, even in autumn, and there is little shade. Sounds like a lot of bother, but it could be quite an enjoyable experience, especially for those who appreciate that part of the country, with its arid plains, sandstone gorges, tranquil waterholes, aboriginal cave painting and petroglyphs, ghost towns, mining ruins and wildlife. Anyway, if you are genuinely interested you can contact me directly at [email protected] and let me know a little about yourself. Melbournians only, by the way. Thank you for your attention.
