Assistant warehouse Manager Required - c£20,000 - Ilkeston We are looking to recruit a permanent Assistant Warehouse Manager for our expanding national client to be based at their Ilkeston depot. The Ilkeston warehouse is the hub of our Clients business with a lot of traffic and a substantial number of deliveries on a daily basis. Therefore, the right individual for this role must be able to cope in a high pressure, fast paced environment. You must be proactive, quick to learn and be able to offer full support to the Warehouse Manager. Key tasks (but not exhaustive) include: • Supervision of day to day warehouse operations and staff, including goods inwards, stock control, housekeeping, picking, packing, documentation, records, discipline and daily management of staff • Overseeing, monitoring and recording of warehouse employee timekeeping and attendance • Monitoring performance and achievement of business targets and objectives, especially MMRs, stock control and picking / packing / despatch efficiency • Warehouse error investigation, analysis and preventative measures to avoid any repetition • Printing and organising picking notes for picking and distributing to the correct departments and members of staff • Monitoring of workload and best use of resource to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and overtime is avoided wherever possible • Liaise with and report to the Warehouse Manager with any issues or expenditure required • Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment • Responsible for physical stock counts and perpetual inventory • Accident reports • Ensuring staff have the right equipment and PPE to work efficiently and safely • Stock control including, quantity, locations, condition, rotation and storage The successful candidate will preferably have a steel or warehousing background and PC literate with good man management and problem solving skills.
