Associate Director Skale function: Market Research - Client Management Reports to (name and title):Client Service Director Skale position: 70 Location: Durban/Johannesburg/Cape Town Purpose of the role: Full ownership of development and maintenance of smaller client accounts, with specific accountability on larger accounts. Total competency and responsibility for research design, Qual planning and analysis. Leadership responsibility - line management, team and cross-team responsibility Role deliverables: Development of Client relationships: • Proactively lead client relationship • Act as a consultant to clients, developing new business from existing clients • Thorough understanding of client business and market AME Regional Account Management • Develop regional insights • Involvement in and driving of regional projects • Support the regional teams [Training and other support] Financial management: • Accountable for achievement of annual GM and profit results • Strong proficiency in pricing for success and profit • Monitor project costs and complete within budget Proposal process: • Recognize opportunities to generate requests for proposals, maximizing if possible • Accountable for overall integrity of proposal/pitch for specific clients • Creative design to budget, while maximizing opportunities to sell and cross sell • Demonstrate research & marketing expertise to inspire clients and team Project management / Fieldwork: • Proactively work with team and suppliers for process improvement /cost savings while retaining quality • Plan resource and anticipate challenges to ensure smooth running projects • Responsible for the negotiations with client, escalating where appropriate • Responsible for ensuring materials meet client business needs • Act as consultant to resolve strategic issues • Lead qualitative fieldwork and analysis (Qualitative Space) • Design & facilitate insight generation & creative concept development (Ideas Architects). Analysis/reporting: • Suggest analysis and insights based on strategic issues for the client and market • Ensure client deliverables meet expectations and needs; deliver excellence • Constant delivery of strong consumer insights to clients Leadership, team and people management: • Lead development of account strategy and communication to team • Ensure direct reports have objectives & development plans to support company strategy • Demonstrate excellence in technical and marketing expertise to inspire both clients and team members • Recruit, develop, and retain high quality people through succession planning and performance management Communication: • Deliver clear and accurate reports, presentations and proposals • Facilitate consultation with key stakeholders • Actively listen and communicate openly with clients and internal teams Scope of the role: Client target: • Accountable for client targets on small accounts (financial / Key Performance Indicators) • Accountable for agreed elements of client targets on large accounts Client contact: • Extensive client relationship development • Key client contact on complex projects Team contact: • Key contact for resource management • Responsible for performance management of direct reports • Involved in recruitment of staff Supplier contact: • Oversee supplier relationships to ensure quality of deliverables Learning & Development: • Support a learning culture through development of junior team members • Source of knowledge on industry developments and the RI offer Knowledge and skills required: • Relevant tertiary education (B.Com / B.
