Astronomy Bytes: (Interesting Stuff about Uranus! Read further.....) Tonights bright gibbous moon lies between two of our outer planets, Uranus and Neptune. You cant see them naked eye but the Moons position will give you an idea of where they are tonight, as detailed in the attached link. Well, if you had excellent eyesight and you were in a dark sky location far from city and suburb, you could see Uranus if you knew where to look. (OK, I know what some of you are thinking! Grow up for goodness sake! This is Astronomy Bytes, not...well...never mind!) 6th magnitude Uranus can be easily seen with binoculars as a pale blue dot, buried among other non-descript dim stars in the constellation Pisces, some 24 degrees away from and to the southeast of the Moon. But you have to know where to look, as there are no bright star guideposts to help you. You can tell its Uranus because, like all stars which do twinkle, all planets, like Uranus, do not twinkle. (STOP SNICKERING!!! I MEAN IT!) 8th magnitude, greenish-tinged Neptune, on the other hand, is visible with 10 power binoculars, but even harder to find than Uranus because it is 14 degrees away and to the west of the Moon in Aquarius, but again surrounded by dim stars. (STOP Snickering! UGH, I give up...) Anyhow, if you are interested in all this, there is more to read in the attached: earthsky.org/tonight/waxing-moon-between-planets-uranus-and-neptune-on-october-15?utm_source=EarthSky+News&utm_campaign=7e1f8225c2-EarthSky_News&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c643945d79-7e1f8225c2-393820589
