At 01h40 a Deep Blue bicycle patrol guard saw 2 c/ms attempting to brake into a shop in Victoria avenue. He confronted them, but was then attacked from behind by another 4 c/ms. Fortunately the guard had enough time to request back up via radio and 2 Deep Blue armed response vehicles come to assist. The 4 c/ms saw the vehicles coming and fled the scene with the guards bicycle. The 2 c/ms trying to break inn fled but was then arrested by Deep Blue guard and response officers. They were then handed over to Hout Bay police. An attempted break inn case was opened and the 2 suspects remain in custody. The Deep Blue bicycle was recovered in Albert road but the 4 c/ms unfortunately managed to escape into Hangberg.
