At 02:30 hours I was awakened AGAIN by my thoughts on the general state of the Church and our Nation. My purpose is not to be negative or a downer type person. I simply desire that we would intercede on a regular basis. We must awake! We must see things sliding down that proverbial slippery slope. Im deeply concerned for any compromise by my own kids and grandkids that they may be facing! Not everything is wrong but sadly, too much is not right. As relaxed as we have gotten there still exists right from wrong as directed by Scripture. Now, Im seeing an attack on our very compass, our very road map and manual on how to live! In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul makes one statement alone to this early church that is a very strong call to repentance. 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. Without going into specifics, I will simply say that calls for genuine repentance, a return to our standards for Christian behavior should be evidenced in our very PREACHING and I see regularly, missing times of renewal at our ALTARS. Today I turn 56. Yes, not old but not a kid out of Bible College anymore. I like so many of the changes that Ive seen since growing up in the Church since age 5…but the slip sliding away literally terrifies me. My prayer is….GOD HELP US! WAKE US UP! MAY WE BE WATCHING AND PRAYING and also ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE. As much as I am a GRACE-MAN and a total relier on GRACE I observe a complete lack of GROWING IN GRACE and a terribly blurred line between our LOVE NOT THE WORLD, NEITHER THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD and our modern condition. Unless and until we BRING FORTH FRUIT, MEET FOR REPENTANCE, we cannot even determine if the Salvation was genuine or just a prayer of convenience. Ok, enough for now but would you all just PRAY…and VOTE? xoxoxo
