At 11:06 Box Alarm 1-1 was struck bringing a full response from Station 1 and Rescue Engine 61-1 from Station 61 (Linkwood-Salem). While Chief`s 1, 1-1, & 1-2 were responding Cambridge Police arrived on scene and reported heavy fire conditions from the rear of a large 2 1/2 story structure with possible entrapment. Chief 1-1, & 1-2 (Chief 1-1 Adam Pritchett & Chief 1-2 Brad Walters) arrived and prepared to make entry for a search and as they were about to make entry into the building it CPD gave what they believed to be an all clear. CPD had located all the family members that resided in the building. Chief 1 (Brian Willey) arrived and established command giving the interior assignment to Chief 1-2 and operations to Chief 1-1. In the mean time Engine Company 1-1 responded with a staffing of 4 and laying the LDH from the Race and Cemetery. Engine Company 1-2 responded with a staffing of 4 and they picked up Engine 1-1`s LDH and sent their manpower forward to assist with interior. Tower 1-1 responded with 4 as well and they took position on the Delta side in the front yard of a neighboring building due to obstructions (power lines). Engine 1-4 responded with 3 and established a secondary water source laying their LDH from the corner of Academy and Cemetery and being the 3rd due Engine Company they established the RIT for the crews inside. Rescue 1-1 responded with 3 and took position on the Charlie Side on Pleasant Ave. and sent their crews to assist Tower 1-1 in opening up inside. Rescue Engine 61-1 responded with 4 and upon arrival took position in the 600 block of Race St. and sent their crew to combine with Engine Company 1-4 to increase the RIT. The working fir dispatch was sounded due to the size of the structure, fire load, and threat of exposure to other structures. This alarm brought Engine Company 46-1 (Church Creek), Engine Company 21-2 (East New Market), Engine Company 16-1 (Secretary), Ladder 56-1 (Madison) with no response and a special call for Tower 6-1 (Hurlock). Tower 6-1 upon arrival set up on side Charlie on Pleasant Ave. and Engine 21-2 established a water source laying a reverse lay of LDH from Tower 6-1 to Race St. Tower 6-1 went to work opening up. All units cleared about 02:00 no injuries were reported. Good work by all involved.
