At 12 noon yesterday outside Tynecastle Stadium I was arrested by Police Scotland, put in handcuffs and thus spent the next 12 hours in the huge machine called The Criminal Justice System............................ My perceived CRIME.....distributing flyers and stickers to mark the anniversary of my late father in law, my daughters Grandad TICH GRANT ( see photo of sticker ) TICH sadly passed away on the 5th of January eight years ago, time has not diminished the feelings of loss for all the family and his many friends. And each year around the 5th we meet to pay our respects to our grandfather / father / brother / uncle / Friend and usually mark this by carrying out some kind of action to say YOU ARE GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN TICH......... yesterday the whole family set out to distribute the little flyers and stickers around Edinburgh, TICH was a huge Hibs Fan ( his ashes are in the centre circle of Easter Road ) we normally take his flag to the game ( see photos ) but since Hearts banned flags at Tynecastle we werent able to take, so the family decided to flyer and sticker the game. NOW... only an idiot could take offence at the information on the flyer/sticker, it is clearly a in memory of someone. I found that idiot yesterday, rather he found me, the arresting officer perceived that what I was doing could cause offence to someone and was aggressive and abusive (omg) thus I was committing a breach of the peace, the fact that no person was offended or complained escaped him as did the content of the flyer, he kept going on about a guy holding a gun and a Hibs badge................ FOR THE RECORD there was no altercation of any sort between myself and any supporters of Hearts, in fact my good Jambo friends Laith and Ryan among others whom I was standing with were just as shocked as I was that this Sargent could get this that wrong. I do think that he took umbrage to me just standing amongst hearts supporters talking and laughing. FOR THE RECORD the picture of TICH holding a toy gun outside the bank is a favourite of the familys as it sums up the ever joking TICH.( see original photo) My brothers Josh and Sonny were handing out and sticking these around the stadium all day and didnt meet any Bad Policing further my uncle Sandy ( life long Jambo ) whom earlier I had been with was also handing out HEARTS ones. TICHs friends had been all over Edinburgh and at Tynecastle in the morning putting up A4 boards, maybe youve seen them. Last year I spent about 12 weeks outside Tynecastle handing out flyers for boxing events and i feel comfortable doing this, Ive hundreds of pals and even more I ken that are staunch Hearts, I get some banter and thats fine. I am a son of Edinburgh FIRST. the colour of your team doesnt matter to me. Anyway I will get my day in court......... Lets see if common sense prevails at fiscal level. Be assured I will fight this with every tool in the box! Nothing however gives me back the 12 lost hours sitting in solitary confinement listening to bams kicking doors and screaming for their medication............incidentally i was first in and last out, the guy next to me on police assault in and out in 4 hours!! My family told I would be out at 9pm messed about until 12pm. Think someone at St Leonards taking me down a peg or two...... FOR THE RECORD i am not anti police, just anti bad policing Thank you for reading this, can I ask you to please SHARE this post. Bradley son of Edinburgh Please check out photos below
