At 1am on Tuesday Nov. 22nd 2011 I was at about 7cm anticipating meeting my daughter Lea for the first time! Somewhere around this hour Al Pachino strolled into the waiting room making it an even more eventful night for my parents and in-laws. The Disney film Tangled was playing on the TV, I could see the Beverly Center Shopping Mall Across my window as I was squeezing Felipe hand. And all I could think about was the moment I would get to finally see her, touch her, hold her. Needless to say after a very colorful 36 hours of labor and emergency C-Section she was in my arms safe and sound and that was all that mattered. Today Lea turns 2! I am in disbelief I remember everyday of my pregnancy and how lucky I felt knowing she was growing in me and that my body, heart and soul were protecting her. Now she is jumping, running and flying as her main means of transportation, she is speaking in full sentences and making requests that quite simply leave me a bit speechless. When she randomly throws hugs and kisses my way I want to melt into a puddle. When She looks into my eyes and can tell I know she is going to do something she is not suppose to do and does it anyway, challenging me with the experience of a seasoned teenager, I have to try to calculate my reaction carefully not to inspire her to raise the steaks:-) She is every part of me and yet she is all her own. I am constantly at a loss for words to describe the deep gratitude and pride I feel when I think about the fact that Lea Olivia Orlovsky Telona is MY daughter and that the universe has chosen me to be her Mama. And today I celebrate her beautiful, mischievous, soul that likes to try everything :-)) Happy Birthday My Amazing Lea!
