At 23, I used to be frustrated with I havent done anything like Zuckerberg or Messi yet. At 23, I used to feel sad whenever I watched that Kohlis ad 23 ka hogaya hoon, ab nahi to kab. At 23, I used to think and worry I dont even own a car or a house yet. At 23, I used to drown in the expectations from life and feel suffocated when lot of them remained unfulfilled. Today, when I recall all that I have ever known about Bhagat Singh through newspapers, books, movies, stories and songs, I realize that he, at 23, had so much better and bigger priorities. And that makes him a true hero. My life has been dedicated to the noblest cause, that of the freedom of the country. Therefore, there is no rest or worldly desire that can lure me now, he said. He died for something which most of us are not even living for. When hanged, he was just 23. Maybe that was too young to consider and celebrate him as a national hero, print his photos on currency and his ideology being taught in schools because, thanks to our perfect Constitution, we are a Nation which is governed by people who are too old and has nearly no youth involvement in its governance (Please, dont take that currency thing as an anti-Gandhi comment. I too loved Lage Raho Munna Bhai). But it was never about taking credits. The more we debate about how much credit he deserved, the more we insult his contribution. Theres a part in you which rebels against whatever, you know, is wrong. The stronger it is, the longer it keeps you away from doing the wrong things. Never let that part of yours die. Keep feeding it the inspiration from Bhagat Singh. Take a stand and rebel for the Good, dont conform to the Wrong. Be a Bhagat! अगर तुम्हारे अन्दर भी आशा की अगरबत्तियां सुलगती हैं, कुछ गलत बदल सही करने को रक्षा के धागों सी सोच उलझती है, नाकामयाबी की आंधियों से लड़ मरने को जलती आरती की कोई लौ सी मचलती है, हरकतें किसी ख्वाब को पाने को किसी भीड़ सी हर रोज़ झगड़ती हैं, मन हवन, सब बुरा आम की लकड़ी सा जुनूँ के घी से छेड़ो तो आग भड़कती है, हर मजबूरी स्वाहा कर पवित्र होने को आज़ाद हो इच्छाएं हर पल तड़पती है... और कोशिश करती हैं, बिखरती हैं, संभलती हैं, उबरती हैं, अगर तुम्हारे अन्दर भी... तो तुम भक्त नहीं, भगत हो!
