At 2pm on 21st DECEMBER listeners are invited to attend RUSTY the DONKEY and Friends CAROL SERVICE at GORTON MONASTERY, where myself (Punk Monk), Fr. Andrew and Rusty the Donkey will be happy to welcome you as we sing traditional carols. Feel free to wear seasonal dress if you wish O:) That evening between 7 and 9 pm, my guest on NORTH MANCHESTER 106.6 FM will be Steve Ogden who has joined us previously. Steve and I used to run the CHRISTMAS TOY and TIN appeals for PICCADILLY RADIO and helped GRANADA TV set up their first CHRISTMAS CARELINE. One Christmas, while working with their TV SCRAMBLE team with Judy Finnegan, Martin Duffy, Lord Winstanley and SHELTERS Roy Murphy, I was Granada TVs Santa. It was a project we ran with Martin Duffy that led to the first TELEFON - the forerunner of COMIC RELIEF and CHILDREN in NEED. Steve now works to empower those struggling financially. So please join us for an unusual two hours of Christmas Music (including some Christmas Punk) as we reminisce with our slippered feet under the desk eating (in my case gluten free) mince pies and sharing seasonal budgeting tips.
