At 3:19 p.m. today, Monday, October 7, 2013, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was notified by two contract workers for the Environmental Protection Agency that they believed they had discovered human remains in a debris field located in the 7000-block of Highway 34 west of Loveland. The two workers were doing hazard material assessments in the area. Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies, investigators and Emergency Services personnel along with Loveland Fire and Rescue and the Larimer County Search and Rescue team responded to the call. Once the discovery was confirmed to be human remains, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded and took possession of the remains. The Larimer County Coroner will provide the identification and manner and cause of death after performing an autopsy and notifying next of kin.
