At 4:31 PM, showers and thunderstorms south of I-40 near the communities of Enola, Pleasant Grove and South Mountain have intensified slightly. Heavy rain and cloud-to-ground are probably anywhere from Enola south and eastward to the Catawba/Lincoln/Cleveland county lines including Pine Mountain Lakes, Shoups Ford, Camp Creek, George Hildebran and Henry River. These storms are moving southeastward at about 25 mph, so they have sped up a little in their forward progress. I expect the lightning threat will continue south of I-40 and east of Brindletown until about 5:15 PM. From Brindletown westward, remain cautious because new storms are developing rapidly over northern Rutherford County.--Steve.
