At 8 yrs of age, this guys owners walked him into the pound, during a high kill time ( Christmas always is) and surrendered him. Left to die, if rescue couldnt squeeze him in ( and many couldnt)....his age and lack of available spaces due to so many dogs in need of rescue, loads of puppies that havent had a chance to live yet, young ones, that have just started to live and many others that are enjoying life, left on a waiting list. Adoption, rescue or death. We all know the horrors of the silly season. We are not often shocked by what we come across, but every so often theres a curve ball....and this beautiful boy did it to us. Look into his eyes, tell him why his owner didnt want him? Why his not coming back to get him? Why his now in another state, being fostered by a loving stranger? His had another chance to live, his one of the lucky ones. Many seniors dont get the chance. Many groups wont give them that chance. The possible health issues and the old adage who is going to adopt an older dog?... Well Im going to prove everyone wrong. Were still trying to get the Ranger to check his paperwork fir his name. Some might say re-name, at 8 yrs of age, I think give him the dignity he deserves and some comfort in who he is. For now, his just baby boy ..... His a cuddle bum big time, playful with all dogs, big or small, loves his humans, pats and knows basic commands... Why should he have died this Christmas? His only crime, his a loving dog and rescues are full. Please, if your thinking of fostering, now is the time. We need as many carers as possible to save more lives like baby boy.... How can you say no? Not ready for adoption.
