At 95 years old I would not want to go through the pain nor the recovery process of surgery! Did the outcome fit the so called crime? I think not and if I was on the grand jury, in this case I would have all offices involved brought up on various murder charges and probably some of the staff members as well. To think that the whole thing started with the lack of respect and empathy by the staff of the nursing home of and for a man’s decision not to have surgery! Was it the lack of training, respect and empathy for an old man… Without empathy what have we become in this case just another corps murdered by cops… Maybe the cops should not have been there and put in this position in the first place… Maybe all it would have taken to resolve this confrontation is someone with a little bit of empathy and respect too hear with an open heart and to except the wishes of an old man not to have surgery! Clearly the answer was not to have the cops respond with men trained in riot control who now are covering up their actions and hiding behind “The “book” and the story of a knife… It is a sad day America a sad day indeed!
