At Banshees visit, he had his leg cleaned, foot massaged, and leg wrapped. His leg wound is still the same size (big area) but that one strip area is closing. His diaper smelled but his leg does not. Theres some discharge but no sign of infection. Its just a nasty wound. His foot is still swollen but the dr doesnt want to start up with steroids. They do not do cold laser treatment here. They have a high energy laser but thats more for hip problems and he said theyve used it on incisions - not on an open wound like this. Then we got to talking about Banshees crying and his difficulty getting up and his wobbly walk. He said there are numerous tests one can do and he cautioned that in some cases, the knowledge obtained is good but then you learn theres nothing to be done. He fears thats the case with Banshee. Hes beginning to think the Cancer spread and maybe attacked his spinal column. He said thats not a common place for it to spread to but not impossible. He checked Banshees legs and feels nothing that would indicate he hurt himself. The X-rays didnt show any problems with his hips but did show some arthritis. That alone would not cause such distress. He gave Banshee a cortisone shot. We shall see how he does. Its a last ditch effort... If he seems improved, maybe it is his back legs. If he does not, it probably means the Cancer spread , in which case theres may not be a whole lot that can be done except love Banshee and keep him comfortable. But hey, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Im hoping the shot makes a difference. He did not get his chemo today. Maybe tomorrow. He stopped the Rimadyl because of the cortisone
